ATHOLL COUNTRY LIFE MUSEUM - Trust Status

Since 1st. December 2004 The Atholl Country Life Museum has been run as a Scottish Charitable Trust with the Charity Number SCO 35882.

Trustees :- Lydia Busby; John Cameron; Robert Cameron; Margaret Cameron; Stewart MacGlashan: Kirsty Cohen; Jane Scott; John Kerr; Elizabeth MacRae; Dolina Maclennan; and the Reverend Ian Murray.

Secretary :- Lydia Busby
Treasurer :-
Elizabeth MacRae
John Cameron runs the Museum on a day to day basis.

Since opening in 1982 the Museum has brought together an important collection of artifacts, photographs and information all pertaining to life in the Atholl glens over the past 200 years, a period of great change.  The aim of the Trust is to stimulate public interest by using the Museum as a focal point of knowledge and education in the history, heritage and culture of Atholl, this unique area in the very heart of Scotland.

We are presently carrying out research work on the Prisoner of War Camp which was at Pitagowan during the Second World War.   If anyone has any stories, information or photographs relative to the Camp which you would allow us to copy, we would be very pleased to hear from you.

Trustees would be delighted to hear from anyone who can provide assistance in staffing the museum or in the general work involved and, now that the Museum is a charity, should anyone be kind enough to make a financial donation towards the upkeep of the Museum, then tax can be reclaimed via Gift Aid.
